The Townsend Conservation Land Trust (TCLT) is sponsoring a Volunteer Trail Maintenance Day on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Howard M. Stein Memorial Park.

The poster advertising this event is designed by Alex Legassie, a student of Lori Wiechers in the Visual Arts Department at North Middlesex Regional High School. It is on display at the Townsend Public Library, Townsend Town Hall, Hannaford's, and various other locations in Townsend.

The Volunteer Trail Maintenance Day will be done in conjunction with the North Middlesex Regional High School's Service Learning group advised by Sara Piper. The public is invited to attend. Please wear sturdy shoes, work gloves and appropriate clothing for working in wooded areas. Bring your favorite hand tools (rakes, hand trimmers, etc.), and join in the fun! TCLT's Harold M. Stein Memorial Park property is adjacent to Old Meetinghouse Park at the top of Old Meetinghouse Road.

Visit the newly redesigned website at for additional details on this event.

And, be sure to stop by the Townsend Conservation Land Trust table during the Townsend Earth Day celebration on the Common, Saturday, April 22. Free bookmarks designed by Lori Wiechers' NMRHS students will be available while supplies last!
