GROTON -- Host families for French exchange students are wanted, immediately, for a May student exchange.
Groton-Dunstable Regional High School will be hosting French students from Lyon, France for nine days. These students will be here from May 9 to May 18. Right now they are looking for host families to take in either a student from Lyon or one of the teacher chaperones who are traveling with the kids.
Coordinator Sue Boswell says the students have a full program of day trips and school visits Monday through Friday. Evenings and weekends will be spent with their host families. This year's group has the unique opportunity to be here over the prom weekend, so they will be able to see all of the attendees at the school's promenade!
The level of English the French students speak varies, but they all take English as a required course at their school in France. The applications submitted by the travelers note that they have anywhere from five to 11 years of English. Some of the students have other languages under their belt as well such as Spanish or Latin.
At this time there is no program set up for GD kids to travel to Lyon. However, if there is interest from the GDRHS community, the school in Lyon that the exchange students attend is open to reciprocate hosting! If you want to take part in this great opportunity and host a french student, you can either submit an application directly online at www.carousel-tours.com or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
