SHIRLEY -- Singers and dancers are needed for the next ShirleyArts! production which will feature songs from many favorite Broadway shows. There will be a chorus of teens and adults plus a children's chorus of students from grades 4-6. Also needed are a few more people who are willing to learn how to play handbells.

The staff has already chosen songs from "Rent," "Pippin," "Sound of Music," "Beauty and the Beast," "Oklahoma," "Little Mermaid," "Jungle Book," "Joseph", "Nunsense," "Guys and Dolls," "Children of Eden," and "Godspell" and are open to suggestions for other music. Some will be full chorus numbers and some songs will be for small groups or soloists.

Singing and dancing rehearsals will be held at Ayer Shirley Middle School, on Tuesdays, starting March 7, including April school vacation. Student chorus 6:30-7:30 p.m., adults 7:00-8:30 p.m., soloists and small groups 8:30-9:30 p.m. as needed. The bell choir will practice at the Shirley Center Town Hall at 7:00 pm starting April 3rd. Performances will be May 6 at 7 p.m. and May 7 at 2p.m.

There will be a small participation fee for everyone, with scholarship help available. Email to register and to ask any questions.
