The Harvard Schools PTO is holding its annual Festival of Cultures today, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at HES. This much-anticipated event celebrates the diversity that exists in our community.

The first part of the event takes place in the HES gymnasium from 6 to 7:15 p.m., where attendees can travel the world in one night! "Ambassadors" from roughly 20 countries will share their culture in a variety of ways.

The second portion of the evening is from 7:30 to 8:30 in the cafeteria, where there will be short performances by local children from a variety of different cultures. In addition, students in grades 2 through 4 will be presenting their woven Mandalas, which they crafted during the recent "Weaving Together: Threads and Voices" artist-in-residency program with visiting artist Sarah Haskell.

The schoolwide art show also opens that evening. Each grade will have on display internationally themed projects completed in art class.
