Harvard School Committee Chairwoman Susan Mary Redinger said that the superintendent search committee has already received seven completed applications and 10 letters of interest in the superintendent position.

The school committee has been formulating questions and received the results from school focus groups and meetings with students and staff.

Redinger said that the committee has received 220 responses to its online survey, with comments on everything from curriculum, to the MCAS, and the vision for the district. "Much of it will be useful for us," she said.

The applications will be ranked in ABC-order by Nov. 17. After that, the preliminary finalists will be interviewed, and the search committee will give the school a list of names to consider as their top choices.

The search committee has kicked off well, with 13 members all there Monday night. It was a pleasure to have them there and I look forward to having the applications," said Redinger.

Special Education Director Search

Harvard Public Schools Interim Superintendent Joseph Connelly said that he and current special education director Pam DeGregorio have been interviewing interim special education director candidates.

He said that he would like one of two finalists to meet the school committee on November 13, and the other on Nov. 26, the date upon which the final decision would be made. The finalist would start on July 1, 2013.
