AYER -- A Westford man has been charged in the deaths of Groton and Dunstable residents in a 2012 car crash.

Keith Lamarre, 21, was arraigned Friday, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said. He is charged with negligent motor-vehicle homicide (two counts), speeding, marked-lanes violation, failure to wear seat belt, and tire-tread-depth violation. Judge Martine Carroll released the defendant on personal recognizance, but Lamarre must not drive or have contact with the victim's families. The prosecution alleges that Lamarre lost control of his truck on Great Road in Littleton early on Sept. 2, 2012, striking a utility pole. His passengers, Taylor Deluca, 21, of Groton, and Richard Mitchell, 21, of Dunstable, were declared dead at the scene.
