The Pepperell Senior Center has put together a wonderful series to help older adults obtain and maintain a healthy weight.

Registered dietitians and other professionals from several local businesses and agencies will be presenting different topics.

MOC Elder Nutrition will present a session on weight, diet and chronic disease; Pepperell Family Pharmacy will discuss medications and how they can effect weight and diet; Southern N.H. Medical Center will present a session on stress and compulsive eating as well as one on sleep and weight; Nashoba Valley Medical Center will talk about plateaus and staying on track; and Arch Fitness will discuss activity and weight.

There will also be a "field trip" to Hannaford's to meet with their registered dietitian about hidden ingredients and reading labels.

The series will end with Gwen Johnson, RD, and Senior Center volunteer, cooking and serving a healthy meal with participants.

The series is on Tuesdays at 2 p.m., starting on Sept. 9.

Although the series is focusing on those 60 years old and older, it is open to all Pepperell adults. There is no fee for the series, and although you are encouraged to attend all programs, it is not required.
