SHIRLEY -- The Shirley Historical Society's display about the Shirley Industrial School for Boys will remain up through Monday, Sept. 8, for visitors and researchers.
This display includes a timeline of its history, many photos of the buildings, items made by the boys, and records of school expansions and expenditures.
The display on the history of Shirley's Mystical Maze Playground will also be dismantled after that date. This exhibit has photos and news clippings from the fundraising and construction 25 years ago. Items that were buried in the time capsule are shown along with a list of the many donors and the fundraising events.
While museum workers prepare for the next display and the annual book and bake sale, information about the Industrial School and the Mystical Maze will be catalogued and packed away, but will be available for researchers in the future.
The museum is at 182 Center Road in Shirley and is open Mondays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Telephone 978-425-9328 or email email@example.com for information.
