The Nashoba Valley Sliders Interscholastic Equestrian Association Western Team serves middle-school and high-school youth from Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Riders work on horsemanship and reining skills through weekly team practices with their IEA team coach. Riders experience the excitement and challenge of competition in Western Horsemanship and Reining at IEA sanctioned shows. Qualified IEA member competitors may advance through regular season shows to zone finals and then onto national competitions, all without having to own a horse!

Recently, the Nashoba Valley Sliders hosted its first IEA Western horse show at Ten Broeck Farm in Pepperell. The show was a huge success, thanks to the essential organizational talents of our NVS team coach.

Over the past several seasons, the NVS team has been very successful, taking home several champion and reserve team titles as well as having several individual national finalists on the team. The regular season came to a close at the end of April. Zone finals were held in Grafton on June 1. National finals were held in Oklahoma City June 26-28.

Those interested in joining the team or who would like more information about our upcoming season, should contact Suzanne as soon as possible at We have spots for all riding levels, whether you are a solid competitor, have never been in the show ring or somewhere in between!

Come join the fun!
