SHIRLEY -- Forty lucky teachers received this season's "golden ticket" -- a seat at the annual Teacher Appreciation Night on Wednesday, June 11, at The Bull Run, Shirley.
Hosted by Community Chiropractic, the event was co-sponsored by The Bull Run Restaurant, Groton Wellness, Luth's Family Karate, Citizen's Bank, Perkins & Anctil, PC, and Lavender Florist.
Teachers from Groton-Dunstable, Ayer Shirley, Devens, Lunenburg and beyond were pampered with complimentary food, drinks, live music by Groton native and guitarist Russell Kniffin, and chair massage by Groton-based massage therapists Sheila Checchi, Jose Dudley and Aisling Keating.
In an "Oprah-style" giveaway, guests were surprised with gifts from local participating businesses, including Body Mind Spirit Day Spa, Centered Massage Therapy, Fitness Your Weigh, Groton Wellness, Lavender Florist, Luth's Karate, Solas Therapeutic Massage, Squg, LLC, and Well-Being Acupuncture of Groton; Lily Baddour Reiki of Harvard; Bodylines Pilates of Harvard and Lancaster; Illuminations of Gaia of Townsend; Nancy Ames Massage Therapy of Acton; and Chris Rottger of Westford.
"We had an overwhelming response this year," said Dr. Pamela Jarboe of Community Chiropractic in Groton. "We thank the other local businesses who enthusiastically jumped in to celebrate a record number of teachers and their contributions to our community.
The next Teacher Appreciation Night will be in June 2015. Any area businesses interested in contributing as a sponsor, or donating services or giveaway items next year, are invited to contact Tobi at Community Chiropractic, at 978-448-9355.
