Incarcerated people learn skills to prepare to return to the community such as public speaking, leadership, critical thinking, planning and teamwork.

Volunteers must pass a criminal background check; commit to mentoring at least two meetings a month; and enjoy teaching, speaking and mentoring. Training is provided by the Department of Corrections and by participating in the Toastmasters programs at the institutions.
