TOWNSEND -- The Townsend Congregational Church will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band's Thursday, June 19, concert on the Townsend Common.

Church members will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, fresh fruit cups, fried dough and popcorn to hungry concertgoers. Root beer floats, hot coffee and cold soda and bottled water will also be available for purchase as will a wide variety of homemade cookies, breads, cakes, pies and candies.

An opportunity to have your face painted and play an assortment of games set up on the Common that evening should interest children attending the band concert.

The Townsend Military Band will open its evening program at 7:30 p.m. by playing Goldman's "On Guard" march and will conclude its concert at 9:30 by playing the "Star Spangled Banner."
