Start jogging this spring

Are you looking for a fun way to start jogging this spring? In preparation for the May 18 Janis Bresnahan 5k Run for Education, come join us this Saturday at the Ayer Shirley High School Track for this Saturday's 8:45 a.m. warm-up stretch and 9 a.m. run/jog through the 5k Road Race route. We meet every Saturday with last group run on May 17 before the Sunday, May 18 road race. All are welcome and group runs are free and open to the public.

Well adult clinics in May

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Ayer Board of Health, announces that a well adult clinic will be held free of charge for the general public:

Friday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center, 18 Pond St., Ayer. No appointment is necessary.

Mother's Day breakfast May 11

The Ayer Gun and Sportsmen's Club will sponsor a Mother's Day breakfast buffet on Sunday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to noon. Open to the public, this all-you-can-eat breakfast will be the final breakfast of the season.

Mothers eat free. For others, adults are $9, seniors are $6 and children 10 and under at $4.

The club is located at 255 Snake Hill Road in Ayer.

Free shotgun safety training event May 11

Ayer Gun and Sportsmen's Club will hold a free shotgun safety training event on Sunday, May 11, weather-permitting, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the club on Snake Hill Road. Call Barry at 978-204-8277 for information.

Rib Fest May 17

A Rib Fest will be held Saturday, May 17, at 6 p.m. at the Ayer Gun and Sportsmen's Club. All-you-can-eat slow-smoked barbecued pork ribs, corn bread and baked beans will be served.

Youth archery clinic May 18

A youth archery clinic sponsored by the Ayer Gun and Sportsmen's Club will be held Sunday, May 18, in two sessions, one from 11 a.m. to noon and the second from noon to 1 p.m. Free to all youths ages 8 to 16. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

This program is designed to foster youth interest in archery and provide a basic knowledge of the sport. All youth archers will be taught basic safety and shooting techniques. All equipment needed for the day will be provided. Come join us and have some fun.
