GROTON -- The Groton Republican Town Committee is happy to announce that they are sponsoring a Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 17, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Grotonwood, which is off Route 119 at 167 Prescott St. in Groton.

This event is open to all ages and political persuasions and will provide an opportunity to meet and talk with many statewide Republican candidates. Candidates already planning to attend are Karyn Polito for lieutenant governor, Mike Hefferan for treasurer, John Miller for attorney general, David D'Arcangelo for secretary of state, and Sheila Harrington for re-election as state representative.

There will be a cookout with classic summer picnic food, Karaoke, pictures with Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, plus other activities as the weather permits, will be a part of this rain or shine event.

As this will be a fundraiser to aid Republican candidates in the upcoming election, the suggested donation will be $20 per adult, $5 per child under 15 and a $50 maximum per family.
