HES Everyone Is an Engineer Day April 30
Parents, friends, neighbors or relatives passionate about science and engineering: HES wants you! 24 scientists volunteers of all kinds (professional or hobbyists) are needed to conduct an engineering design project with each classroom of children at HES on April 30 between 8:15 and 10 a.m. This 20-30 minute lesson can be followed by discussion and explanation of the event or of your experiences as a scientist.
Volunteers are invited to spend time inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers by creating an exciting, hands-on project for children to enjoy. (A gumdrop dome? A ping-pong ball launcher? A foil boat? A toothpick bridge? What fun project do you have in mind?)
2014 Celebration Committee call for volunteers
Volunteers are needed for Celebration 2014. The Celebration 2014 committee accepts anyone willing to contribute his or her time, have fun and pitch in. All parents of students from Bromfield and HES are welcome and encouraged to join Celebration efforts. Individuals can contribute to one or more of the many Celebration 2014 subcommittees such as entertainment, food, decorations, fund raising, administration, tear-down/set-up and chaperone. Please contribute some of your time to help create the annual special event that celebrates, honors and protects our youth. For more information on how to volunteer, please contact Celebration 2014 committee co-Chair Pat Cooper at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Celebration in need of prizes for students
An exciting part of the entertainment during Celebration (the after-prom party) is the prizes awarded to juniors and seniors every five minutes throughout the night. This is one reason the students stay all night, especially ending with several large prizes at 4:30 a.m.
This calls for about 100 prizes and the Celebration Committee seeks prize donations of all sorts. In past years, the students have especially enjoyed receiving retail and restaurant gift cards.
The large prizes have included small electronics and Red Sox tickets. If you can donate, the committee would welcome your support.
Please feel free to contact Mindy Atwood by phone 978-844-0697 or email email@example.com if you can make a donation. She can arrange a pick-up or you can mail to:
