PEPPERELL -- A Level 3 sex offender is being charged with failing to report changes in his sex-offender registration, according to police.
On Tuesday, April 8, members of the Nashua Police Department's Uniform Field Operations Bureau arrested Charles Hynes, 54, of 16 Tarbell St., Pepperell, on an active arrest warrant and charged him with duty to inform, a class B felony.
During an investigation by the Nashua Police Department's Special Investigations Division, police learned that Hynes failed to comply with his duty to inform. He allegedly failed to report, in person, changes in his information of his sex-offender registration. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.
A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in state prison, exclusive of fines.
Hynes was arraigned in 9th Circuit Nashua District Court on Wednesday, April 9.
