TOWNSEND -- Join Estelle James and Priscilla Hutt Williams from Pumpkin Brook Organic Gardening in Townsend on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and get some vegetables growing this spring!

You will learn how to start the Easy to Save seeds (beans, lettuce, tomato, pepper, pea) from the new Townsend Public Library Seed Lending Library collection. Library seeds will be available to you.

You will plant pots of lettuce to take home, then walk through how to start peas and beans in the garden. Indoor seed starting of peppers and tomatoes for later transplanting will be discussed.

You will also learn how to save seeds from your crops to return to the Seed Library next fall.

Priscilla Hutt Williams is the founder and president of Pumpkin Brook Organic Gardening, and Estelle James is the company's nursery manager and a New Hampshire Master Gardener. They offer thousands of organically grown vegetable and flower seedlings for sale each year. You can visit them at for the current list.
