Destination ImagiNation is a child-centered, nonprofit, volunteer organization for children, kindergarten through grade 12, that puts forth six challenges each year.
Educators and industry experts develop these challenges, centered on a particular area of the curriculum and its related standards. The areas of focus include: Technical, Scientific, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Structural and Service Learning. There is also a noncompetitive Early Learning Challenge that allows participants to develop social and problem-solving skills starting in kindergarten.
Destination ImagiNation participants learn by doing, they learn critical-thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration and, since all challenges are solved by the team, confidence.
We have a strong program here in Pepperell and Townsend, with team participating at Global Finals for the past several years! Membership fees have doubled this year to help keep our program strong, we are having an electronics recycling fundraiser.
We will be in Townsend at the Earth Day Celebration, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., collecting all types of electronics and household items for a fee. Televisions, computers, keyboards, metal, grills (no propane tanks), video games, audio equipment, etc., will also be collected. Below is a list of items and prices. Fill a paint can of miscellaneous items for $3. Look for us on the Townsend Common!
