Free dinner, live music and good company Feb. 28
All are welcome to the next Groton Community Dinner on Friday, Feb. 28, at First Parish Church, located at the intersection of Route 40 and Route 119 in Groton, MA. Dinner is served continuously from 5:45-7:00 p.m. Come for live music, delicious food, and good company. The menu for February 28th dinner includes house salad, chicken pot pie or tofu pot pie with buttermilk biscuits, bread basket with butter, and gingerbread with applesauce.

Community School open house March 2
Groton Community School is hosting its annual Open House on Sunday, March 2, from 1-3 p.m. for families interested in learning more about our special children's center. Located at 110 Boston Road, Groton Community School offers programs for Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten, including full day and extended day options.

Ash Wednesday and Lenten Services at SOV March 5
On Wednesday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m., Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 80 Champney St. in Groton, will have an Ash Wednesday service with the Imposition of Ashes.
There will also be a 5-part Lenten series entitled "Making Change" on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.
The topics for each Wednesday will be as follows: March 12: Change of Season; March 19: Change of Habit; March 26: Change of Circumstance; April 2: Change of Heart; April 9: Change of Plans.

Republicans to meet March 5
The Groton Republican Town Committee will be meeting Wednesday, March 5, at the Senior Center at 7:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is two-fold. The committee is planning a Family Friendly Fund Raiser on May 17 at Grotonwood, and welcomes active participation in this planning stage of the event. This will also be the last meeting before the Republican State Convention on March 22, at the Agannis Arena at Boston University. Final plans for attendance at this event will be made at the meeting.

Well adult clinic March 13
Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Groton Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 163 West Main St., Groton . March is Blood Sugar Month. Drop in for blood pressure, pulse screening and diet teaching. No appointment is necessary. New England Contra Dance March 15
Celebrate Saint Patrick's Day with your friends at Groton Grange #7 as we present a traditional New England Contra Dance from 7:30-10 p.m. at Historic Groton Grange Hall, 80 Champney St. This will be an evening of live music and dancing with Groton's own Contra Banditos along with Dudley Laufman and the Two Fiddles.
Dudley will teach traditional New England style contra, square and line-dances to the beat of old time fiddle tunes. Beginners are welcome, no experience is necessary.
As a special treat, the Flying Irish Dance Troupe and Studio will perform traditional Irish step dance during the intermission. Studio owner Mary Sara O'Hanlon will be available to hand out information and answer questions about the The Flying Irish School of Dance.
Donation at the door is $5. Children under 5 years old are free, and family maximum is $20. Refreshments are provided.
