SHIRLEY -- The Friends of the Hazen Memorial Library is excited to announce a fun event for the entire family -- the first ever Mini-Golf Fundraiser scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 23, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Believe it or not, an 18-hole miniature golf course will wend its way through the library shelves, transforming the building into an amazingly fun experience for all ages!

Prices will be very family-friendly at $2 per person regardless of age or a $10 maximum per family.

So far, the Bemis Company, Bigelow Plumbing and Golden Girl Granola have generously agreed to help sponsor the event.

The Friends are currently seeking more sponsors who will be acknowledged at the event, in local media, on the library's website, and be seen by hundreds of people who come to play golf in February. All sponsors at the $200 level and up will have their company's name, logo and address posted at the hole they've sponsored.

Additionally, five of the company's employees are invited to our exclusive Preview Night on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. These lucky folks will have an opportunity to enjoy refreshments, play the course, and meet other sponsors, Friends, trustees, and library staff and volunteers.

The goal of the Mini-Golf Fundraiser is to raise the money needed for a commercial disc-cleaning system, which will extend the life of our movie, music and audiobook collections.

We wish to thank those who have already signed on as sponsors and to encourage additional businesses, individuals and friends of the library to consider sponsorship in any amount.

Since the Friends of the Hazen Memorial Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.

All sponsors are asked to register by Feb. 7 in time for everything to be printed.
