A special treat from new local baker Raffaella Tomaselli: Homemade, simple muffins customized with favorite seasonal fruit, enjoyed at breakfast or as a snack. Buon appetito!

Tutti frutti muffins


1 1/4 cup sugar

4 eggs

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup milk

4 1/2 cups flour, sifted

1 tsp. salt

1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder

1 1/2 cup fruit of your choice (blueberries, strawberries or peaches)


Preheat oven to 350°, grease muffin tin or fill with paper liners.

Into a mixing bowl, combine sugar, eggs, butter and milk on low speed. In another bowl, sift flour, add salt and baking powder. Remove bowl from mixer and gently stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until combined.

Fill each muffin tin 1/2 full with muffin batter, add some fruit, then add more batter, filling tin 2/3 full. Bake 20-25 minutes, until tops are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
