Spring Artisan/Craft Fair: Get ready for spring with a visit to the Union Congregational Church of Groton's eighth annual Spring Artisan/Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair showcases the talents of local artisans and crafters and promises something for everyone. Shop from a variety of unique gifts and seasonal home decor, including wooden rabbits, oil paintings, home décor, painted glassware and wooden items, embroidered clothing and gifts, baby items, jewelry, herbs, Groton Minutemen Lanterns, and so much more. All items are handmade. Make a day of it with scones and coffee in the morning and a delicious "almost" gourmet lunch of soups, salads, and sandwiches. Then stop by the bake table for goodies to go! Supper fund-raiser: 5-6:30 p.m., United Church of Shirley. Spaghetti and meatball supper with garlic bread, salad bar and a selection of desserts. There will also be gluten-free pasta available. Supper: Townsend Congregational Church invites you to enjoy a Roast Pork Dinner with Sauerkraut, homemade applesauce, carrots, mashed potatoes, and homemade dessert from 5-6:30 p.

Game Dinner: The Townsend Rod and Gun Club's annual Game Dinner will be held from 5-9 p.m. The dinner will highlight various game for "culinary trail blazers," as well as traditional ham and turkey. There will be door prizes, sporting goods raffles, and club information. (You don't have to be a member to come to the dinner!) The club is on Emery Road, off Rt. 13 in Townsend. Concert: 3 p.m. The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden announces the next "Concert at the Garden." The Saturdays, a musical group that blends folk, bluegrass, rock and the blues, will be playing original arrangements of contemporary and traditional favorites. The Healing Garden is located at 145 Bolton Road in Harvard and offers support, educational and therapeutic services to those affected by cancer. Garden Club of Harvard: Guest speaker will be Connie Grabowy, a Garden Club member and the horticulture chairperson. She has a master's degree in botany and has taken many horticulture courses at Tower Hill Botanic Gardens. Connie will speak about growing plants from seed and cuttings. She will also show some inexpensive ways of building your own plant collections. Think spring and join us! The meeting will begin at 11:15 a.m. at Holy Trinity/St. Theresa Church and is open to the public. Lunch and a business meeting will precede the speaker.


Good Friday Baked Haddock Supper: 5-7 P.M., Christian Union Church in West Groton. Join us and all your friends, relatives and neighbors at this traditional meal during Lent; you won't be sorry. The meal is served plated; reservations not required and take-outs are available. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 under 12; under six eat free. Annual clothing sale

The First Parish of Bolton, located at 673 Main St. in Bolton, will hold its Annual Clothing Sale on Friday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Gently worn clothing for all seasons including tons of kids clothes, stylish name brands, as well as maternity, plus sizes and men's suits will be available for purchase. In addition there will be some household and decorative items. The consignment part of the sale will be held in the main hall and there will be a rummage sale in the vestry at the same time. On Saturday, April 27, at noon, all items remaining will be marked to half price and that portion of the sale will end at 2 p.m. From 2-3 p.m. on Saturday there will be a bag sale --two different size bags with as many items as you can fit in a bag for one small fee of $2 or $3 per bag!
