Robbie O'Connell and Aoife Clancy (pronounced Eefa) are first cousins and award winning performing artists who were raised in the small town of Carrick on Suir, Tipperary. At a young age, family members introduced them to songs and lively storytelling. Their Clancy family home in Ireland was a significant multi-generational gathering place for traditional musicians and song collectors for many years. Robbie developed a career as a touring singer songwriter and solo artist and moved to New England where he has raised his family.
Aoife Clancy is an anchoring member of the celtic music scene. She is the daughter of singer Bobby Clancy. She trained at the fine Gaiety Theater of Dublin, has several beautiful CD collections to her credit including Silvery Moon, and toured with the Paddy Noonan Show as well as the groundbreaking group of Irish daughters, Cherish the Ladies. She was part of the a grammy nominated Celtic evening recorded with The Boston Pops. Her current ensemble The Jammin' Divas released a first album in 2012. Aoife and Robbie collaborate in several larger groups that offer popular festival and holiday season concerts, including The Clancy Legacy, but they also greatly enjoy the format to be offered in Groton center; a lively duo show in a small setting.www.aoifeclancy.com brings you to her full schedule.
