Honk! Jr. anti-bullying musical: Don't miss the acclaimed musical "Honk! Jr." at the Groton-Dunstable Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Winner of the Olivier Award for Best Musical of 2000, this contemporary version of The Ugly Duckling story is a fun-filled adventure that tackles the difficulties and joys of being different. The show is presented by The Groton Dunstable Community Education Program in conjunction with Groton Dunstable Middle School. Applewild hosts open house: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Crocker House, 120 Prospect St., Fitchburg. Church supper: The United Church of Shirley will be holding a turkey dinner from 5-6:30 p.m. The menu will include turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, vegetables, rolls, coffee, soft drinks, a salad bar and a selection of desserts. Evergreen Garden Playschool: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 270 Barnum Road, Devens. Join us for a tour, talk to our teachers and learn more about our school. Guided tour at Oxbow: 1 p.m. Come and enjoy a few hours of snowshoeing or cross country skiing in the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge. The terrain is relatively level except for one small hill. Depending on the snow cover, we will see various animal tracks. January is also the time of year that barred owls are hooting to attract a mate. Gather in the parking lot at the main entrance to the refuge at the end of Still River Depot Road, Harvard. Bring water to drink. In case of lack of a good snow cover, we'll hike. Partner for Profits: The Devens Eco-Efficiency Center's Great Exchange will host "Partner for Profits" from 3-5 p.m. at 33 Andrews Parkway. The program facilitates reuse of unwanted materials to reduce purchase and disposal costs. Businesses and nonprofits can obtain free office supplies and clear crowded space by offering unneeded products.


Mom to Mom

The Mom To Mom program is being offered in Bolton, January through April. Mom to Mom is designed to encourage and support all mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers with biblically-based teaching on parenting, women's health and relationships.

The program runs for 10 Thursdays starting Jan. 31, from 9:15-11 A.M. We meet in Fellowship Hall at Trinity Church in Bolton, 14 Wattaquadock Hill Road (just off Route 117).

The program starts with refreshments and coffee, then there is either a guest speaker or video followed by small group discussion. Nursery care is available for infants through kindergartners.
