State Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan and Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Director Edmund M. Walker will present certificates of completion to members of the Call/Volunteer Firefighter Training Class 41 and Class 42 Dec. 20 at the Department of Fire Services, Stow.
67 graduates from 31 Fire Departments
Two classes are graduating at the same time. Class 41 trained at the Hamilton Fire Department and Class 42 trained at the Department of Fire Services in Stow.
Class 41 had 24 students including 22 men and two women from the Byfield, Georgetown, Hamilton, Haverhill, Lynnfield, Middleton, Rockport, Salisbury and Topsfield Fire Departments.
Class 42, pictured, had 43 students including five women, and 38 men from representing the Ashby, Boxborough, Carlisle, Dudley, Groton, Harvard, Holden, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Littleton, Mendon, Millbury, Oxford, Princeton, Rutland, Shirley, Shrewsbury, Stow, Tyngsborough, Wareham, West Boylston and Westminster Fire Departments
The Call/Volunteer Firefighter Training program is unique in that it delivers a standard recruit training curriculum, meeting national standards, on nights and weekends to accommodate the schedule of firefighters in rural areas.
