State Sen. Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) and his Republican challenger Dean Cavaretta of Stow, have agreed to appear at a candidates' debate hosted by the League of Women of Voters on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 7:30-8:30 p.m., at the Acton Town Hall Faulkner Room, 472 Main St., Acton. Both candidates are vying for the Middlesex and Worcester state Senate seat, which includes the towns of Acton, Ayer, Boxboro, Harvard, Hudson, Littleton, Maynard, Northboro (Precinct 3), Shirley, Southboro, Stow, Sudbury (Precincts 2, 3, and 5), Westboro, and the city of Marlboro and the Devens community.

The Acton-Area and Harvard League of Women Voters are co-sponsoring the forum. The LWV is asking voters to propose questions for the forum by Oct. 22 by emailing (Please include street address and city or town.)

The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Eligible residents must be registered to vote by Oct. 17.
