ACTON -- Open Door Theater will hold auditions for its 2013 production of "Annie" on Oct. 14, 15 and 16 at the Dragonfly Theater at RJ Grey Junior High, 16 Charter Road. Talented singers, dancers and actors of all ages and abilities are encouraged; actors must be 9 years old as of Jan. 1, 2013, to participate. Rehearsals for "Annie" will start Sunday, Oct. 21. "Annie" is the story of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. (Please note that the role of "Sandy" (Annie's dog), will be played by a live dog in the show.) "Annie" is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
