Groton-Dunstable Regional High sophomore David Alvarez had a banner week in leading the Crusaders' soccer team past North Middlesex and Maynard.

Against NM, Alvarez netted all three goals in a 3-2 G-D victory. And in the Maynard game, he scored midway through the second half to propel his team to a 2-1 win.

Alex Newman made 3 saves in goal. Alex Castallano, Zac ElMasri, Ian Maguire and Max Phanord played well for the Crusaders.

The Pats fell in a tight one as they allowed a pair of penalty-kick goals.

North Middlesex also scored on a PK by Alban Baboci. Roody Clemetson had the other NM goal, assisted by Owen Marr.

Lily Blodgett finished with 6 aces, 9 kills and 5 blocks as Groton-Dunstable won 25-10, 26-16, 24-26, 25-20, in a Midland-Wachusett League match.

Peter White tallied 14 digs, while Lauren Kenney dished out 20 assists.

Lydia Pray, Alexis Millett and Carolyn Mullins notched 6 kills apiece.

The Patriots won 26-24, 25-11 and 25-23.

The Crusaders split the first two sets (25-19, 19-25) and then took the final two (26-24, 25-23) for a hard-fought win.

Mike Amari of North Middlesex and Bailey Watts of Hudson shared medalist honors at 38.

North Middlesex also received strong rounds from Nic Miller (40) and Luke Boccelli (41). It was a strong outing for the Patriots against a 9-1 Hudson team.

Senior James Willson shot a 1-under 34 at Groton Country Club to help the Groton-Dunstable golf team earn a win over North Middlesex.

Jared Leclerc added an even-par round of 35 for G-D. Jackie Stiles shot a 38.

James Kimball won the overall race for the Vikings, posting a time of 16:56 for the 3.1-mile course in Westford.

Nashoba's second finisher was Mason St. Pierre, who was sixth in 19:02, followed by Robert Paris in seventh at 19:37 and Adam Kubasti in 10th place at 21:11.
