FITCHBURG -- Fitchburg State University's Center for Professional Studies and University Police will once again offer a three-day police mountain-bike training course this summer.
The course, taught by Medway police Sgt. Jeffrey Watson, will run Tuesday, Aug. 28 through Thursday, Aug. 30 on the Fitchburg State campus. Registration is $350 per officer and certificates recognized by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee will be presented at the end of the final session.
Officers in the course are required to provide their own mountain bike; helmet; eye protection; water for hydration; flat-tire repair kit; and duty belts for final day training. The course will include classroom and riding time each day.
