WESTFORD -- James Kimball of Pepperell, a 16-year-old junior at Nashoba Valley Technical High School, was the top overall finisher in the sixth annual Friends of Nashoba Haunted 5K, finishing the 3.1-mile course in 17:54.

Meanwhile, 12-year-old Michelle Valasquez of Groton was the top female finisher with a time of 24:05.

Kimball managed to win the race, during which runners were encouraged to wear costumes, while dressed as Forrest Gump looked during his running days, with full beard.

More than 170 runners registered, and the Friends of Nashoba raised about $10,000 for student activities.

Following are the top finishers in each age group (not including the overall winners).

Female 18 and under: 1. Brooke Baker (Pepperell), 25:50; 2, Maggie Flannagan (Townsend), 27:31; 3. Ashley Bosworth (Gardner), 32:07.

Male 18 and under: 1. Devin Carter (Townsend), 18:40; 2. Mason St. Pierre (Groton), 18:55; 3. AJ Cheappelta (Westford), 19:15.

Female 19-35: 1. Siobhan Pierce (Ayer), 26:17; 2. Jeeranuch Saijanyon (Boylston), 26:38; 3. Emma Tosch (Northampton), 27:00.

Male 19-35: 1. Thomas Dorman (Townsned), 24:40; 2. Matthew Peterson (Westford), 24:46; 3. Charles Clark (Chelmsford), 26:16.

Female 36-50: 1. Meg Tang (Pepperell), 26:24; 2. Jean McKenna (Shirley), 26:53; Cindy Smith (Groton) 26:56.

Male 36-50: Kelly Heim (Carlisle), 19:07; 2. Tom Wolejko (Lunenburg), 22:22; 3. Adam Prescott (Westford), 23:01.
