GROTON -- The Union Congregational Church in Groton Is hosting a Harvest Fair on Sept. 30 to help fund the fight against addiction to substances.
UCC Groton has partnered with Teen Challenge New England, a faith-based ministry that is diligently working to impact the fight against addiction. All of the monies raised through the fair will be donated to Teen Challenge to help them with programming and providing a meaningful place to recover from substance abuse.
The Harvest Fair will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., both outside and inside the Union Congregational Church, 218 Main Street in Groton.
Teen Challenge New England provides adults, teens and families with an effective and comprehensive faith-based solution to substance abuse and other life controlling issues through clinical and life-coaching in order to become productive members of society.
Some of the events planned for the Harvest Fair are: a Chili Cook-off Contest, and an outdoor wood-fired Pizza oven as well as children's activities, sale tables and mini concerts inside the church sanctuary.
