TOWNSEND -- The Townsend Historical Society's 36th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair on September 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and September 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will be held on the historic Town Common at the intersection of routes 119 and 13.
The event will be filled with the creative work of artists and crafters, live music, and good food. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the two-day fair.
Artists, artisans, and crafters will display their work for the public to browse or buy, from stained glass and artwork to wood-turned arts. Children will enjoy the small petting zoo, face painting, and children's singer "Jeff Jam" at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Last year's most unusual new member, the Alpaca "Mojito," will be accompanied by her baby, "Rain." There will be live music at the bandstand, including Christine Anderson and her band "Joe's Gang" who will perform a variety of different types of music.
The Townsend Community Couples Club and the Townsend Historical Society will be working together to offer grilled breakfast sandwiches and lunch offerings as well as a variety of baked treats both days.
