Christmas Candlelight Worship: All are welcome to Christmas Eve worship at Union Congregational Church in Groton. At 5 p.m., Family Worship, geared especially to the young, will include a dramatic reading of the Christmas Story as well as children's choirs, a sermon and passing of the candlelight. At 7 p.m., a traditional service, more for adults and teens, will include Lessons and Carols, the full Christmas story, lots of music, a sermon and the passing of the light. Candlelight Service in Littleton: First Church Unitarian in Littleton invites you to join us for our Candlelight Service at 7 p.m., which features the Ceremony of Light, in which the Sanctuary is darkened and each participant holding a candle passes the flame until the entire Sanctuary is again filled with light. This service also includes readings and carols sung by the congregation, the Mixed Choir, and the Artemis Singers. First Church Unitarian is located at 19 Foster St., Littleton.

Christmas services at Shepherd of the Valley: Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 80 Champney St., Groton, would like to extend an invitation to all to join in a celebration of Christmas at their Christmas services.
On Tuesday, Dec. 24, SOV will have two Christmas Eve Candlelight services at 5 and 7 p.m. with a half-hour of caroling preceding each service, which will begin at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Holy Communion will be offered at each service. Children from the congregation will have musical offerings for the 5 p.m. service and the adult choir will sing at the 7 p.m. service.
On Wednesday, Dec. 25, SOV will have a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.
Coming in January...
New Year's Day hike: noon. Annual New Year's Day Hike at the Oxbow Refuge. Walk off some of the extra calories collected during the holidays and hike or snowshoe the trails near the main entrance to the refuge, while meeting up with old friends and making new ones. If there is enough snow, it should be possible to use cross-country skis. We'll start from the parking lot at the end of Still River Depot Road in Harvard. Take a Look Morning - 9:00 AM - Applewild School (coeducational independent K-8 day school serving families in central MA and southern NH) is hosting an Open House.
