DEVENS -- For the second year in a row, Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce, state Rep. Sheila C. Harrington and the One-Stop Career Centers of North Central Mass and Lowell will be hosting a local job fair at the Devens Common Center in Devens on Jan. 31, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Operon Resource Management and Workers' Credit Union.

In the fall of 2012, Rep. Harrington (R-Groton) reached out to Melissa Fetterhoff, president and CEO of the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce, because she wanted to do something to help connect local businesses to those who are looking for work.

Harrington said, "My district has a slightly lower unemployment rate than the state average, but the middle class is still hurting here. I hope the Job Fair will be able to provide them with good career opportunities."

North Central Career Center and Career Center of Greater Lowell bring a variety of resources to the table, including the offer to providing resume critique for job seekers at no charge.

Job seekers will meet representatives from a diverse blend of local businesses, government contractors and federal agencies. There is no fee for job seekers to attend. Applicants should bring at least 10 copies of their resume and be dressed ready to interview.

Booth spaces for sponsors and employers are still available. For information call the Nashoba Valley Chamber at 978-772-6976 or visit
