DUNSTABLE -- Police are investigating an incident in which a projectile was fired through the window of a home on High Street on May 3, a month after police investigated gunshots that were fired nearby on Hardy Street.

"Officers are investigating the possibility that the projectile may have been from a pellet gun," Dunstable police said in a press release.

No one was injured, and police said it appears the incident was random. It appears the projectile was fired during the overnight hours, according to police.

On April 3, police found shell casings near the edge of Hardy Street after residents reported hearing gunshots in the area. Police believe those shots were fired early in the morning, possibly around 3 a.m. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Police boosted patrols in the area following the gunfire, and said they will maintain increase patrols in the area in the wake of this incident.

Police said the incidents do not appear to be connected.

Residents who spot suspicious activity in the area are asked to call Dunstable police at 978-649-7445.
