AYER -- Looking to volunteer locally?

Recycle Your Reusables is the regional drop-off day for hard-to-recycle items. It takes place at Bemis Associates in Shirley on Saturday, Oct 20, from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. and is open to everyone. Serve your community by taking part this year.

Over nine years, RYR has diverted almost 100 tons of recyclables from landfills, donated tons of home goods to social service agencies to pass onto their clients moving out of homelessness and collected over $6,000 and 2 tons of food for Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.

Volunteers (adults and high school kids -- who will receive community service hours) are needed for 2-hour shifts (8:30-10:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 12:30-2:30 p.m.) to unload cars, direct traffic and help vendors. We provide training, breakfast, lunch, a giant pat on the back.

You provide a smile and a willingness to help. For more information or to volunteer, contact Laurie Sabol at 978-496-5839 or at ayerrecycles@gmail.com.
