STATE HOUSE, BOSTON -- Gov. Deval Patrick and First Lady Diane Patrick plan to join friends in Switzerland for a long-weekend vacation, leaving Massachusetts on Thursday and returning Sunday, according to an aide.

Patrick started his day in Boston where he detailed his administration's plan to fix the troubled Health Connector website that has created hurdles to enrollment in new Affordable Care Act health plans.

The governor left that press conference to travel to Worcester where he planned to tour the Chandler Magnet School and make an announcement relative to the achievement gap and funding for Innovation Schools.

The Patricks are due to depart for Switzerland Thursday afternoon or evening.
