AYER - This advisory comes from Ayer Town Administrator Robert Pontbriand on Friday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m.:

The following is a brief storm update of activities from the Town of Ayer:

Ayer Fire Chief Pedrazzi convened the Emergency Management Team this morning at the Ayer Fire Station at 7:30am to discuss and review the Town's plans for the impending storm.

The Meeting consisted of Chiefs Pedrazzi and Ayer Police Chief William Murray as well as DPW Superintendent Mark Wetzel, Highway Foreman Doug Jaspersen, Assistant Highway Foreman David Nelson, Police Sgt. Todd Crompton, Fire Captain Paul Fillebrown, Selectman James Fay, Facilities Director Dan Sherman, and the Town Administrator [Pontbriand].

All DPW operations are in place to keep ahead of the storm.

All Fire, Ambulance and Police operations are in place as well, including additional dispatch.

The Ayer Town Hall will close at 11 a.m. on Friday.

The Ayer-Shirley Regional Schools are closed on Friday.

The Ayer Council on Aging is Closed.

In the event of an emergency, residents should call 9-1-1

Residents are asked to stay off of the roads as of 12 p.m. (noon) today until the storm ends.

The Town of Ayer's Winter Parking Ban is in effect.
