SPRINGFIELD -- Adam K. Gray, of Pepperell, received the Harold Heye History Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England University. This award is given to the outstanding graduating senior in memory of Harold Heye, longtime member of the History Department. Jonathan Beagle, associate professor of history, presented the award.
Gray graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree. A member of the Mortar Board and Phi Alpha Theta honor societies, Gray was included in the 2012-13 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. His involvement on campus included serving as president of the Gay-Straight Alliance and working with the Office of Residence Life and the National Residence Hall Honorary. He also participated in the Emerging Leaders program, the LEADS Leadership Conference, and the Senior Symposium.
In the fall, Gray will attend Northeastern University to pursue a master's degree in college student development and counseling while working as a residence director at Simmons College.
