TOWNSEND -- "Explore Color" will be the theme of a late summer "New Directions" exhibit in Townsend's Meeting Hall Gallery on display from Aug. 10 to Sept. 28.

The Call for Art and registration forms are available at the Library and online at Entries are due Saturday, Aug. 3.

Artists may submit two works, preferably produced in the last two years. A fee of $5 per artist will be due at time of artwork drop-off on Friday, Aug. 9, from 5-6 p.m.

A reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, from noon to 2 p.m.

This will be the third annual exhibit dedicated to work in which artists and crafters have been invited to explore some new aspect of their work -- different materials, different subjects or new techniques. Artists are invited to submit a description of the "new direction" their work has taken.

The Meeting Hall Gallery is part of the Library/Senior Center complex that was donated to the town by Sterilite Corporation. A five-member volunteer committee manages the gallery, which hosts a variety of exhibits throughout the year.

Information on the gallery is available on Townsend Library's website.
