SHIRLEY -- Help the town of Shirley develop a Gateway Plan for the Lancaster Road Corridor. Come to a Charrette Public Visioning Session for land along the Lancaster Road Corridor, which is part of the Lancaster Road Priority Development Area (PDA). Shirley citizens, Shirley property owners, Shirley business owners, developers, local and state representatives, town elected officials and staff, and anyone else with interest should attend!

The charrette will be held Thursday, June 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lura A. White Elementary School, located at 34 Lancaster Road, Shirley.

The Montachusett Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) is working on a Gateway Plan for the

Lancaster Road area as part of continued planning related to the Lancaster Road PDA. The Town of Shirley will also be engaging the MRPC in the development of potential zoning bylaw amendments to further economic development in the Lancaster Road PDA. The project will be completed by the end of November 2013.

This event will focus on a vision and ideas for future potential development in the Lancaster Road PDA, and also how the Lancaster Road Corridor can be improved.

Participants will be directly involved in activities to identify key issues for the planning team to address in the Lancaster Road PDA Gateway Plan.

The Public Visioning Session and Lancaster Road PDA Gateway Plan are being completed with the assistance of the MRPC under its District Local Technical Assistance Program, funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
